The situation of fouls and red and yellow cards in 16 the matches of the knockout stage of the 22nd World Cup football tournament were analyzed by using the method of literature,video analysis,mathematical statistics and logical analysis.The conclusion is that the number of fouls is the highest when the score is the same,and the period of 75-90minute is the most frequent period of fouls;tackling with foot or other parts of the body is the main reason for the occurrence of foul,and also the main reason for the referee to award penalties for ball penalties;the mid-field area has the most fouls,and it is also the area where the red and yellow cards are most likely to appear;reckless fouls are the main reason for the yellow cards,while serious fouls are the most common cause of red cards.
