Study on removal of phosphorus from spent electroless nickel plating bath by chemical precipitation
[Introduction]Proper treatment and effective recycling of phosphorus-containing compound in spent electroless nickel plating bath is an effective strategy to achieve sustainable development.[Method]The spent electroless nickel plating bath was treated by chemical precipitation to realize the recyling of phosphorus in the form of hydroxyapatite(HAP).The effects of reaction temperature, initial pH,and Ca/P ratio(i.e.mass ratio of calcium nitrate to phosphorus in spent electroless nickel plating bath)on the removal rate of phosphorus were studied. The process paramters were optimized by orthogonal test.[Result]After being treated at temperature 75 ℃,intial pH 12,and Ca/P ratio 1.67,the removal rate of phosphrous was up to 99.998%,and the obtained precipitate was HAP.[Conclusion]The phosphrous can be effectively removed from the spent electroless nickel plating bath after being treated by the given method, and the HAP produced during the treatment is expected to be recycled.
