Study on atmospheric corrosion behavior of zinc-coated steel by atmospheric corrosion monitoring technology
[Introduction] The corrosion behavior of zinc-coated steel in the atmospheric environment of various cities in Fujian Province is worth studying. The significance and reliability of atmospheric corrosion monitoring (ACM) technology in evaluating the atmospheric corrosion of zinc-coated steel needs to be confirmed. [Method] The ACM monitoring data of zinc-coated steel corrosion was collected truly and accurately at various cities in Fujian Province, and compared with the outdoor coupon testing results. [Result] ACM technology can provide real-time data such as temperature, time of wetness, and corrosion amount for the corrosion of zinc-coated steel, showing better reliability than the outdoor coupon testing method. [Conclusion] The time of wetness is a key factor affecting the corrosion rate of zinc-coated steel at the inland areas of Fujian Province. The corrosion rate of zinc-coated steel at coastal areas of Fujian Province is greatly affected by the distance to the sea.
