Preparation of layered lubricating coating and its anti-icing property
[Introduction]Anti-icing is a pressing issue in a variety of equipment areas such as wind turbines.[Method]Layered lubricating coatings were prepared on common glass surfaces with polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS),liquid paraffin, and Fe3O4 as raw materials by spin coating technique. The surface stability and anti-icing property of the coatings were studied.[Result]These layered lubricating coatings lost only about 3%of their mass after 7 days of evaporation at 70 °C or being impacted by water flow. The adhesion strength of ice on the 10-layer coating was increased only from 2.41 kPa to 3.55 kPa after 15 cycles of icing test. The time for water droplets to condense on the surface of this coating was 363 seconds, significantly longer than the 40 seconds required for condensation on ordinary glass surface.[Conclusion]Layered lubricating coatings possess good surface stability and durability against icing.
