[Introduction]Appropriate surface treatment of metal fittings used on transmission line is beneficial for extending their service lives and ensuring the safe operation of power system.[Method]The micromorphology, elemental composition, phase structure, corrosion resistance, and wear resistance of pure Zn,Zn-Ni alloy, and Zn-Ni-diamond composite coatings were compared by scanning electron microscopy (SEM),energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS),X-ray diffraction (XRD),electrochemical analysis, and friction and wear testing.[Result]Among the three kinds of coatings,Zn-Ni-diamond composite coating, which was mainly composed of γ-Ni5Zn21 phase and δ-Ni3Zn22 phase, was the smoothest and the most compact, and had the best corrosion and wear resistance.[Conclusion]Zn-Ni-diamond composite electrodeposition has a promising application prospect in the surface protection of metal fittings.
