Preparation and properties of a polymer-based seal coating for corrosion prevention of metals
[Introduction]A method for simple preparation of a highly anticorrosive coating with strong friction resistance on metals was proposed.[Method]A sealing agent was prepared with epoxy resin,aminoethylaminopropyl-trimethoxysilane,micron cellulose particles, silica nanoparticles, tetraethyl orthosilicate, and hexafluorobutyl acrylate, and then coated on copper by air spraying.[Result]The introduction of hexafluorobutyl acrylate monomers and trifluoropropanol as modifier resulted in a coating with low surface energy and good adhesion. Copper sheets coated with the sealing agent lost only about 7.4% of their mass after 6000 hours of salt spray test, and the time to complete corrosion in aqua regia for them was delayed by at least 350 minutes as compared to the uncoated ones.[Conclusion]The seal coating exhibits excellent resistance to corrosion and friction.
