[Introduction]A self-lubricating film suitable for micro-motor applications is urgently needed for Al-Zn-Mg alloy coated steel sheets.[Method]The properties of three types of chrome-free self-lubricating products for moderate-aluminum Al-Zn-Mg alloy coated steel sheets were studied by surface micromorphology observation and elemental composition analysis of the self-lubricating films. The key performances such as corrosion resistance and wear resistance of the self-lubricating films were examined, and the reasons of the differences in their performances were discussed in consideration of the compositional characteristics and actual applications of the self-lubricating products.[Result]As compared with 1#and 2#chrome-free weak organic acid self-lubricating products,3#organic-inorganic self-lubricating product is of inorganic acid, has stronger interfacial reaction with the steel surface, and produces a film with higher adhesion strength, corrosion resistance, fingerprint resistance, electrical conductivity, and wear resistance.[Conclusion]The 3#chrome-free self-lubricating product contains phosphate, which is not only a corrosion inhibitor, but also one of the effective components of the barrier layer and bonding layer, improving the corrosion resistance of the self-lubricating film.Fluorotitanic acid,as an additive, acts not only as a corrosion inhibitor to improve the corrosion resistance of the self-lubricating film, but also as a filler filling the pores in the film, which facilitates the formation of a compact self-lubricating film, effectively reduces the friction coefficient of the film, and improves the forming performance of Al-Zn-Mg alloy coated steel sheets.
