Response surface optimization of treatment process for high-nitrate-concentration electroplating wastewater by combining electrochemical technology with iron powder reduction
[Introduction]The process for treating a simulated high-nitrate-concentration electroplating wastewater by combining electrochemical technology with iron powder reduction was optimized by response surface method.[Method]The experiments were carried based on central composite design to study the effects of voltage, initial pH,mass concentration of chloride ions, and stirring rate on the removal efficiency of nitrate.[Result]After electrolysis under the conditions of voltage 13 V,initial pH 1,inter-electrode spacing 1.2 cm,mass concentration of chloride ions 3 000 mg/L,and stirring rate 450 r/min for 60 minutes, the removal rate was 84.04%for nitrate and 81.37%for total nitrogen.[Conclusion]The high concentration of nitrate can be effectively removed from the electroplating wastewater by combining electrochemical technology and iron powder reduction.
