Vegetables occupied the primary position in the supply of non-staple foods and were essential for every household and person in the city every day.After the reform and opening-up,almost all cities in the country experienced a shortage of vegetables.As the largest city in China,the supply and marketing of vegetables in Shanghai was a major challenge.Its essence was that after the reform and opening-up,the law of value challenged traditional vegetable production, supply,ouctionsupply,and pricing models.In order to solve the problem of urban vegetable supply and marketing,Shanghai applied the law of value to guide the the production and supply of vegetables, objectively meeting the requirements of urban residents for abundant quantity,diverse varieties,fresh and tender quality,balanced listing,and convenient purchase of vegetables.At the same time,it increased the income of vegetable farmers,laying a foundation for the continuous promotion of vegetable supply and marketing reform in the future.
