HistoricalInvestigation of the Southwest Ethnic Visiting Delegation
The establishment of a central ethnic visiting delegation to conduct condolences and investigations in ethnic areas was an important measure in the early days since the founding of the PRC to implement the Common Programme of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference,deepen ethnic exchanges,and consolidate national defense security. Among them,the earliest southwest ethnic visiting delegation established a good communication channel with ethnic minorities during the visit through gift giving,cultural performances,and medical treatment and rescue.Through investigations into the social history,language,cultural relics,and other aspects of ethnic minorities,we deepened our understanding of their characteristics.Helping ethnic minorities establish ethnic minority autonomous regions,ethnic democratic coalition governments,and mediation committees gained the support of ethnic minority masses.This large-scale visit was of great significance to establishing the image of the Party and government governing for the people,solving the economic difficulties in ethnic areas,eliminating prejudice against the southwest region,and providing methodological guidance for future ethnic investigations.
