Analysis of the Generation and Development Process of the Concept of"New Period"
As an important concept in the history of contemporary China,the"New Period",also known as"the new period of reform and opening-up and socialist modernization",gone through a complex process of formation and development.At first,the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China proposed a new period of socialist modernization,starting from smashing the"Gang of Four"in 1976,and was only one stage of the socialist revolution and construction period.After the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,new terms such as"the new period of socialist modernization and reform and opening-up"gradually emerged.After Deng Xiaoping's south tour speeches and the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,the full term expression of"the new period of reform and opening-up and socialist modernization"gradually matured.At the same time,the starting point of the"new period"changed from the smashing of the"Gang of Four"in 1976 to the convening of the Third Plenary Session of the 11th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in 1978.The positioning of the"New Period"in the history of New China also changed,rising from a stage in the socialist revolution and construction period to a new historical period parallel to the socialist revolution and construction period.After the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,with the proposal of the"New Era",the time limit of the"New Period"was clearly defined as the convening of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2012,and this concept was finally finalized.
