A Historical Study of the Asia-Pacific Regional Peace Conference in 1952
In order to break the blockade and encirclement of the Western countries headed by the United States after the founding of new China,the Chinese government actively launched a campaign to defend peace and vigorously developed people's diplomacy to establish the broadest international united front.In October 1952,new China initiated and held the Asia-Pacific Regional Peace Conference,which was attended by multiple countries.The attending representatives conducted in-depth discussions on topics such as preventing the revival of Japanese militarism,ending the wars in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and other regions,promoting national independence,strengthening economic and cultural exchanges,and safeguarding the rights of women and children.The Conference adopted a number of important documents and resolutions,such as Letter to the People of the World,Letter to the United Nations,and further pointed out the tasks and direction of the peace movements in the Asia-Pacific Region.The Asia-Pacific Regional Peace Conference enhanced the understanding of the people of all countries about new China,played a positive role in shaping the positive national image of new China,and consolidating the international united front,promoting the development of the world peace movements,and had great historical significance.
