Clinical effect of Guipi mixture in treatment of insomnia with heart-spleen deficiency syndrome after severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection:An analysis of 30 cases
Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of Guipi mixture in the treatment of insomnia with heart-spleen deficiency syndrome after severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection.Methods:A total of 60 patients with insomnia with heart-spleen deficiency syndrome after severe acute respiratory syndrome corona-virus 2 infection were enrolled and randomly divided into control group and treatment group,with 30 patients in each group.The patients in the control group were given oral administration of alprazolam tablets,while those in the treatment group were given oral administration of Guipi mixture in addition to the treatment in the control group,and the course of treatment was 15 consecutive days for both groups.The two groups were assessed in terms of clinical outcome,Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)score,traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome score,and the incidence of adverse events.Results:The treatment group had a significantly higher overall response rate than the control group[96.67％(29/30)vs 80.00％(24/30),P＜0.05].Both groups had significant changes in PSQI score and TCM syndrome score after treatment,and there were significant differences in these indicators be-tween the two groups after treatment(P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence rate of adverse events between the treatment group and the control group[9.99％(3/30)vs 13.32％(4/30),P＞0.05].Con-clusion:Guipi mixture combined with Western medicine treatment has a better clinical effect than Western medi-cine treatment alone in the treatment of insomnia with heart-spleen deficiency syndrome after severe acute respirato-ry syndrome coronavirus 2 infection and can improve clinical outcome and sleep quality,without increasing adverse events.
