Clinical efect of Wuhu decoction combined with budesonide suspension in treatment of asthmatic bronchitis with phlegm-heat obstructing the lung:An analysis of 59 cases
Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of Wuhu decoction combined with budesonide sus-pension in the treatment of asthmatic bronchitis with phlegm-heat obstructing the lung.Methods:A total of 116 chil-dren with asthmatic bronchitis with phlegm-heat obstructing the lung were randomly divided into treatment group with 59 children and control group with 57 children.The children in the control group received aerosol inhalation of budesonide suspension,and those in the treatment group received Wuhu decoction in addition to the treatment in the control group.After 7 days of treatment,the two groups were compared in terms of the time to disappearance of clini-cal symptoms or signs(pyrexia,cough,dyspnea,short of breath,and moist rales),T lymphocyte subsets(CD3+,CD4+,CD8+,CD4+/CD8+),inflammatory factors[interleukin-5(IL-5),interleukin-6(IL-6),interleukin-10(IL-10),and interferon gamma(IFN-γ)],and adverse reactions.Results:There was a significant difference in o-verall response rate between the treatment group and the control group[93.22％(55/59)vs 77.19％(44/57),P＜0.05].Compared with the control group,the treatment group had a significantly shorter time to disappearance of clinical symptoms or signs(P＜0.01).After treatment,both groups had significant reductions in CD3+,CD4+,CD4+/CD8+,IL-5,and IL-6 and significant increases in CD8+and the serum levels of IL-10 and IFN-γ,and the treatment group had significantly greater improvements than the control group(P＜0.01).The treatment group had a significantly lower incidence rate of adverse reactions than the control group[8.47％(5/59)vs 17.54％(10/57),P＜0.05].Conclusion:In the treatment of asthmatic bronchitis with phlegm-heat obstructing the lung,Wuhu decoction combined with aerosol inhalation of budesonide suspension can improve symptoms and signs within a short period of time,reduce pulmonary inflammatory response,and improve immune function,with good efficacy and safety,and therefore,it holds promise for clinical application.
