Clinical effect of Yiqi Wenyang prescription in treatment of chronic urticaria and its effect on serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D
Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of Yiqi Wenyang prescription in the treatment of chronic urticarial(CU)with deficiency of Qi and blood and Yang deficiency and its effect on the serum level of 25-hydroxyvitamin D(25HVD).Methods:A total of 87 CU patients with deficiency of Qi and blood and Yang defi-ciency were randomly divided into treatment group with 45 patients and control group with 42 patients,and 30 healthy adults were enrolled as normal group.The patients in the control group received oral administration of lorata-dine tablets and cetirizine hydrochloride tablets,while those in the treatment group received Yiqi Wenyang prescrip-tion in addition to the treatment in the control group,and the course of treatment was 30 days for both groups.Clini-cal symptom score and serum 25HVD level were measured before and after treatment,adverse reactions were recor-ded,and overall response was evaluated.Results:There was a significant difference in overall response rate between the treatment group and the control group[86.67%(39/45)vs 73.81%(31/42),P<0.05].Both groups had a significant change in clinical symptom score after treatment,with a significant difference between the two groups af-ter treatment(P<0.05).Before treatment,there was a significant difference in serum 25HVD level between the two groups and the normal group(P<0.05);after treatment,the treatment group had a significant increase in serum 25HVD level,with a significantly higher level than the control group(P<0.05),and both the treatment group and the control group had a significantly lower serum 25HVD level than the normal group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Yiqi Wenyang prescription has a marked clinical effect in the treatment of CU with deficiency of Qi and blood and Yang deficiency,possibly by upregulating the serum level of 25HVD.
