Clinical effect of Paning prescription I in treatment of Parkinson's disease with wind syndrome due to Yang deficiency and dampness-stasis obstruction:An analysis of 42 cases
Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of Paning prescription I in the treatment of Parkin-son's disease(PD)with wind syndrome due to Yang deficiency and dampness-stasis obstruction. Methods:A total of 42 PD patients with wind syndrome due to Yang deficiency and dampness-stasis obstruction were divided into 3-month treatment group with 22 patients and 6-month treatment group with 20 patients according to the time when they attended the hospital, and the course of treatment was 3 and 6 months, respectively. All patients received con-ventional Western medicine treatment combined with Paning prescription Ⅰ.The two groups were observed in terms of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome score,Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale Part Ⅲ(UP-DRS Ⅲ)score,non-motor symptom scale(NMSS)score for PD,levodopa equivalent daily dose(LEDD),and ad-verse reactions. Results:There was a significant difference in overall response rate between the 3-month treatment group and the 6-month treatment group[72.73%(16/22)vs 100.00%(20/20),P<0.05].After treatment, both groups had significant reductions in TCM syndrome score,UPDRS Ⅲ score,NMSS score, and LEDD,and the 6-month treatment group had significantly lower indicators than the 3-month treatment group(P<0.01).No adverse reaction was observed in either group during treatment. Conclusion:In the treatment of PD with wind syndrome due to Yang deficiency and dampness-stasis obstruction, conventional Western medicine treatment combined with Pa-ning prescription I can improve motor symptoms and non-motor symptoms, alleviate TCM symptoms, and delay dis-ease progression, with a more significant clinical effect with the increase in the time of treatment.
