Analysis of epidemiological characteristics of varicella in Yili Kazakh Autonomous prefecture from 2017 to 2022
Objective To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of chickenpox in Yili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture(Yili Prefecture for short)from 2017 to 2022,and provide reference for the prevention and control of epidemic of chickenpox.Methods The information of the cases with chickenpox from 2017 to 2022 were collected from the China Disease Prevention and Control Information System,and the epidemiological characteristics were analyzed with descriptive epidemiological methods.Results From 2017 to 2022,a total of 15 406 cases with varicella in Yili Prefecture were reported,with the average annual reported incidence rate of 89.94/100 000,and the incidence rates showed decreasing trend by the years(trend x2=3 086.356,P<0.001).The second quarter was a small peak of incidence,and reached the highest peak in fourth quarter each year,with obvious seasonality.The top three counties(cities)were in sequence of Yining city,Zhaosu county and Chabuchar county.The incidence rate of the males was higher than that of females(x2=11.658,P<0.001).The cases aged 0-19 years was the main and accounted for 86.90%.Of which,the number of the cases aged 5-9 years was biggest,accounting for 36.47%.Student was the main in the occupations(accounting for 58.59%)and nursery children(accounting for 20.82%).Conclusions The incidence of varicella is decreasing year by year in Yili prefecture.School and kindergarten are the key places for the prevention and control of varicella epidemic.The center for disease control and prevention should strengthen the epidemic surveillance,review of the case report,and carry out targeted training,publicity and education for decreasing the incidence of varicella.
