Analysis of occupational stress and mental health status of radiation workers in public health emergencies
Objective To investigate the occupational stress and mental health status and related influencing factors of radiation workers,so as to provide theoretical basis for formulating the strategies of mental health improvement of radiation workers.Methods A cross-sectional survey was carried out,and 210 radiation workers who participated in public health emergencies were selected as the research objects in Lanzhou city.The effort-reward imbalance scale and Kessler 10 scale were used to investigate the occupational stress and mental health status.Results There were 250 questionnaires distributed in this survey,210 valid questionnaires were taken back,with the effective recovery rate of 84.00%.The detection rates of occupational stress were high in the radiation workers with the age of 41-50 years,wedlock,urban household registration,and the years of work more than 20 years.There were statistical differences(P<0.05)in the detection rate of occupational workers among different ages(x2=8.129),marriage status(x2=4.224),and household registration(x2=8.746).The detection rate of emotional disturbance was high in the radiation workers with the monthly income of 6 000 RMB and more,with statistical difference in the detection rates of emotional disturbance(P<0.05)in the radiation workers with different monthly income.The scores were high in the dimensions of hard work(H=8.450)and income(H=6.618),internal input(H=6.901)and the 11-20 years of work.There were statistical differences(P<0.05)in the scores of radiation workers.The scores in the dimensions of hard work showed positive correlation with the scores of emotional disturbance(r=0.206,P<0.01),and the scores in the dimensions of income showed negative correlation with the scores of emotional disturbance(r=-0.541,P<0.01).Conclusions The occupational stress level of radiation workers during public health emergencies is high,with low level of mental health.
