Effect evaluation of integrating ideological and political education in epidemiology course
Objective To carry out ideological and political education in the teaching of epidemiology courses in preventive medicine majors,and explore the effectiveness of ideological and political education in the teaching of epidemiology courses.Methods Selecting undergraduate students majoring in preventive medicine from a certain university in Xinjiang as the survey subjects,conducting ideological and political education on courses on a class by class basis,and evaluating the teaching effectiveness.Results The ideological and political education in the experimental group's curriculum was more effective than the control group in promoting attention to social issues(x2=4.385),enhancing cultural confidence(x2=4.778),and promoting professional identity(x2=3.931),with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The usual grades(t=-2.155)and final grades(t=-2.046)in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusions The integration of ideological and political education into the epidemiology course teaching has achieved certain results,but further improvement of teaching design is still needed to give full play to the main role of classroom teaching and further consolidate the achievements of ideological and political education in the course.
