Objective To analyze the trend of prevalence and epidemiological characteristics of hand, foot and mouth disease(HFMD)in Jingyuan county of Gansu province from 2013 to 2022,and provide a scientific basis for HFMD prevention and control strategies. Methods The data of prevalence of HFMD in Jingyuan county from 2013 to 2022 were collected from China Disease Control and Prevention Information Management System, and the epidemiological characteristics of HFMD were analyzed with descriptive epidemiological methods. The throat swab samples were detected by RT-PCR.Results There were 1 675 cases with HFMD reported, with the annual average incidence rate of 34.59/100 000,and the annual incidence rates alternately changed between the high level to low level in Jingyuan county from 2013 to 2022.The highest annual average incidence rate was 91.06/100 000 in Wulan town. The cases were dominant at the age of 0-4 years, accounting for 84.65%.The scattered children were the main in all reported cases.A total of 355 samples were tested, and 248 samples were positive, with the detection rate of 69.86%.The detection rate of other enteroviruses was the highest(33.52%).There was statistical difference(x2=47.929,P<0.05).Conclusions The overall incidence of HFMD is decreasing in Jingyuan county in resent ten years, but the prevention and control of HFMD could not be in the area with the high density of population, and in the scattered children. The etiological surveillance of HFMD should be strengthened for mastering the pathogenic variation and the rule of change of HFMD.
