Analysis of results of HIV/AIDS sentinel surveillance among male migrant population in Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps
Objective To understand the awareness of HIV/AIDS knowledge of the male migrant population in Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps(Xinjiang Corps for short),the characteristics of high risk behavior,influencing factors,and the infection status of HIV/AIDS,syphilis and hepatitis C infection,so as to provide basis and suggestion for prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS in this population.Methods From 2016 to 2021,in accordance with the National HIV/AIDS Sentinel Surveillance Implementation Program,the questionnaire was carried out in the male migrant population and their blood samples were collected for testing in the monitoring sites from April to June every year.Results A total of 2 400 persons were surveyed,with the mean age of(40.87±10.90)years.The overall awareness rate of HIV/AIDS was 83.08%.The results of the multiple Logistic regression analysis showed that the education level was the influencing factor of the awareness of HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment knowledge in the migrant population.The rate of condom use of using condom every time was 5.75%,23.81%and 15.63%,respectively when they had sex with regular partners,clandestine prostitutes and temporary sex partners in the last year.Conclusions The awareness rates of HIV/AIDS knowledge shows increasing trend in the male migrant population in Xinjiang Corps,but the rate of condom use is low.The un-protected sex behavior still exists.The publicity and education should be strengthened,and the self-prevention consciousness should be increased.
