Impact of health education to health literacy of infectious disease in rural residences and quality of disinfection in kindergarten units
Objective To understand the impact of health education on the health literacy of infectious diseases among rural residents and the quality of preventive disinfection in rural kindergartens under the background of prevention and control of acute respiratory infectious diseases.Method There were 475 rural residents randomly selected for comparing with the data in 2020 before the health education activity based on the questionnaire survey with the questionnaire of Chinese Public Health Literacy Survey on Infectious Diseases in Jianou city of Fujian province in October 2023.There were 14 rural kindergarten units randomly selected for the detection of total bacterial count,coliform group,and pathogenic bacteria,and investigate the quality of preventive disinfection before and after the health education activities.Results The score of health literacy of the rural residents was(18.70±5.62)points and(20.54±5.51)points,respectively before and after the health education,with statistical difference(t=4.989,P<0.001).The pass rates of the health literacy on infectious disease was 62.11%and 74.89%,respectively in rural residents,with statistical difference(x2=17.173,P<0.001).The average qualification rates of preventive disinfection were(66.67±9.43)%and(88.10±7.01)%,respectively in rural kindergartens,with statistical difference(Z=3.206,P<0.001).The pass rate of preventive disinfection in rural kindergarten units was significantly positive correlation with the score of health literacy on infectious disease in related staff(r=0.580,P=0.001).Conclusions Under the background of the prevention and control of the acute respiratory infectious disease,the health literacy on infectious disease is significantly improved by the activities of health education in the rural residents.The health literacy of the staff working for the kindergartens on infectious disease is closely related with the quality of preventive disinfection.
