Research and Analysis on Simulation Calculation for Water Hammer Protection in Pressurized Water Intake Pump Stations in Reservoirs
In order to ensure the reliability of the water intake and transmission system in pump station projects, and to reduce project investment and subsequent operational costs, it is necessary to conduct a comprehensive water hammer protection calculation and analysis for the entire pressurized water intake system of the pump station. This paper takes the Nanganqu Pump Station Project at the Jianshan Reservoir in Xingren County as a case study. The transitional process is calculated using the method of characteristics, analyzing the water hammer pressure in the pump station's water intake and transmission system under different reservoir water level conditions and valve closing rules. The results indicate that to ensure the safety of the pump station's units and water intake and transmission system, it is necessary to install both water hammer relief valves and compound air valves on the DN1000 water intake main pipe before the pump station, as well as on the DN900 irrigation water transmission pipe and DN300 water supply transmission pipe after the pump station.
