Research on Optimized Dispatch of Flood Process in Huairou Reservoir
Huairou Reservoir is an important drinking water source for Beijing, playing a critical role in water regulation, supply, and flood control. Since its completion, the upstream of the reservoir has experienced periodic changes between abundant and scarce water periods. Additionally, dozens of medium and small-scale water storage projects have been progressively established in the basin. Particularly since 2015, the implementation of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, which diverts water to Miyun Reservoir for regulation, has set new requirements for the operation and scheduling of Huairou Reservoir. However, the current design flood for Huairou Reservoir still uses the results from 1986. To adapt to changes in the flood control situation upstream and downstream of the reservoir, a review of the reservoir' s design flood is conducted. Through flood control calculations and trial runs, an optimized dispatch study of the reservoir's flood process is carried out, ensuring the safety of the reservoir' s infrastructure.
