Analysis of Damage Causes in Large-Diameter PCCP Pipelines
The Middle Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project in the Beijing section plays a significant role in urban livelihood, economy, environment, and ecology. This section predominantly employs large-diameter PCCP pipelines. Ensuring the long-term operational safety of PCCP pipelines and preventing damage from various factors is crucial. This paper analyzes the damage forms and causes of large-diameter PCCP pipelines through real-time monitoring of wire breaks using the SoundPrintAFO system and electromagnetic detection, combined with excavation exposure, geophysical survey results, geological hydrology, and test inspections. This analysis aids in taking targeted measures to extend the safe operational lifespan of PCCP pipelines and can also provide a reference for future pipeline design, construction, operation, and maintenance.
