Application of Bottom-Hinged Gates in Urban Flood Control Projects
The paper, applying the Jiangxin Wharf section of flood embankments in Wenzhou City as a carrier, conducts a comprehensive analysis in aspects such as technology, economy, landscape, and safety. It proposes a new type of dry gate, the bottom-hinged gate, which not only meets flood control requirements but also harmonizes with urban landscapes. The paper introduces the structural design of the bottom-hinged gate and conducts calculations and analyses on parameters such as tower frame horizontal displacement, gate overall structural displacement, stress on wall and base joints, stress on pin shaft joints, and support rod stress, demonstrating that the strength and stiffness of the bottom-hinged gate structure meet regulatory requirements. Therefore, the bottom-hinged gate presents a new direction for urban flood control project construction in China's new era.
