Research on the Water Consumption Patterns of the Oasis in the Plain Area of the Qiemo River Basin in Xinjiang
With large-scale development of land and water resources over the past 30 years, the ratio of artificial oasis to natural oasis in the Qiemo River Basin has changed from 4∶96 to the current 17∶83.This change is mainly due to the transformation of some natural oases and deserts into artificial oases.Water is the most critical resource for the stable development of the basin.Reasonably allocating water demand between artificial and natural oases has become the top priority in the development, utilization, protection, and management of water resources in the basin. Therefore, this paper systematically analyzes the current water consumption patterns and main causes for both artificial and natural oases in the plain area of the Qiemo River Basin. It also proposes future calculations for the allowable water consumption and available water volume for oases in the plain area of the basin,as well as directions for water conservancy project construction. These measures aim to promote the rational allocation of water demand between artificial and natural oases, thereby supporting high-quality economic and social development and ecological civilization construction in the basin.
