Research on Construction Technology of Cutoff Walls Using Single-Axis Mixing Piles in Embankments on Thick Soft Foundations
To address issues such as poor impermeability, long construction periods, and low stability of cutoff walls, research is conducted on the construction technology of cutoff walls using single-axis mixing piles in embankments on thick soft foundations. The approach involves reinforcing the bedrock surface of thick soft foundations with single-axis mixing piles, where cement is combined with coarse sand from the highly permeable layer to form a solidified body. This body is bonded to the bedrock surface through gravity, creating a bedrock surface that functions as a water barrier and cutoff wall, thus mitigating the impact of thick soft foundations on the construction of cutoff walls. The thickness of the single-axis mixing pile cutoff wall is calculated using the allowable hydraulic gradient method, and factors affecting the thickness of the cutoff wall are analyzed to avoid axial deviations during construction. The method also includes overlapping cement single-axis mixing piles in thick soft foundations.By using a deep mixing cutoff pile machine, cement slurry is injected into the deep layers of the soft foundation, forming multiple cement mixing piles that continuously overlap to create the cutoff wall.Through case analysis,it has been verified that this technology results in higher construction quality and can be applied in practical engineering projects.
