The Relationship between Na Tong and Weng Tonghe from the Perspective of Daily Life-A Study Centered on The Diary of Na Tong and The Diary of Weng Tonghe
With the rise of daily life history,daily life has become an important perspective for studying political figures.Before the Reform Movement of 1898,Weng Tonghe as the"Imperial Teacher"held such high positions as the Grand Councilor,Assistant Grand Secretary and the Minister of Revenue.During that time,Na Tong held a low position as a subordinate of the Ministry of Revenue.However,their relationship was extraordinary,surpassing the normal interaction between officials of their respective levels.Closer examination reveals that the reasons lie not only in the special relationship between their families,but also in their personal traits.The relationship between them shows the complexity of interpersonal relationships within bureaucratic groups,and is a typical case for examining the relationship between officials in the late Qing Dynasty.
