Comprehensive Bonded Zone Policy and the Adjustment of Enterprise Export Product Scope
As an important carrier of the development of China's open economy, the comprehensive bonded area plays a vital role in promoting trade diversification and facilitating steady growth in foreign trade. This paper empirically examines the impact of China's comprehensive bonded zone policy on the export scope of multi-product enterprises using the difference-in-differences(DID)method.The mechanism analysis reveals that the comprehensive bonded zone policy significantly broadens the export scope of multi-product enterprises through both the"agglomeration effect"and the"incentive effect".Heterogeneity testing indicates that the policy has a more pronounced impact on the export scope of multi-product firms located in regions with higher marketization, administrative cities at a high level, and non-state-owned enterprises.Extensive analysis shows that this policy has notably enhanced the export performance of multi-product enterprises. This study highlights the export dividends of the comprehensive bonded zone policy, providing significant insights for promoting the transformation and upgrading of these zones while stabilizing foreign trade.
