Research on ventilation calculation of the vertical salient pole fully evaporative cooling hydro-generator
The full evaporative cooling technology of the salient pole vertical hydro-generator can achieve efficient cooling of the stator and rotor windings,reducing the air volume demand of the hydro generator for the ventilation system.However,the introduction of various resistance elements in the generator air path may have an impact on the motor ventilation system.To achieve refined thermal design of the ventilation system for fully evaporative cooling hydro-generators,the three-dimensional model of the key pipe lines structure of the stator evaporative cooling sys-tem and the end of stator wire rod were established.Then the numerical calculation of the stator end flow field was carried out through finite element CFD software,and the wind resistance law was obtained.After the introduction of the condenser in the rotor evaporative cooling system,the characteristics of the rotor flow pressure head under dif-ferent condenser design schemes were explored.Finally,based on the FLOWMASTER software,the calculation of wind path in the ventilation system was completed,and the air volume distribution data of each part of the motor was obtained through the path algorithm.The software calculation results are checked with the theoretical calcula-tion results to ensure the accuracy of the calculation.This paper can provide a reference for the key structural engi-neering design of evaporative cooling system from the perspective of refined ventilation calculation.
