In this paper,for an accident in which two 500 kV circuit breakers successively encountered faults,action process of protection mechanisms was analyzed through recorded data according to the chronological order of 5052 circuit breaker fault,5051 circuit breaker fault,and coincident fault.Finally,by disassembling and opening the 5051 and 5052 circuit breakers,it was found that breakdown and grounding did occur inside the circuit breakers.
