This paper analyzes lightning overvoltage of a 6/10 kV distribution line in Henan Oilfield which encountered lightning trip,and determines main cause of lightning trip as the excessive arcing rate.Simulative calculation on lightning overvoltage under different insulator configuration schemes show that the adoption of'one pin,two rods'optimized scheme for insulators can achieve satisfactory result in 6/10 kV distribution lines,i.e.,significant reduction of arcing rate.
