Acousto-electric Analysis of a Case of Partial Discharge Defect Encountered by an Actual Switchgear
This paper reports a case of data over-threshold of partial discharge detection encountered by an actual 10 kV switchgear. It describes analysis performed for identifying the defect, including PRPS and PRPD spectroscopy for the ultrasonic wave to determine the defect type, and calculation of possible location of the defect from the position of the maximum transient ground wave. Finally,it was confirmed through outage inspection that the defect of local discharge is caused by improper type selection of post insulator of switchgear back door.
