Observation and Characteristic Analysis of Mountain Area Wind Power in the Western Sichuan Plateau
By utilizing wind speed observation data from Sichuan province and data from meteorological stations and ane-mometer towers in the western Sichuan region,an observational and characteristic analysis of mountain area wind energy potential in the Sichuan western plateau was conducted. The collected data encompass wind speed and direction information at various altitudes and time intervals, forming foundational dataset for analyzing wind power distribution and frequency. To delve deeper into wind energy characteristics,a comprehensive measurement of wind fields in the region was performed using anemometer towers. The acquired measurements underwent preprocessing by feature analysis, followed by calculations of air density and wind power density, and analysis of diurnal variation of wind power density, wind fre-quency distribution, and hub height estimation. The conclusion drawn indicates a considerable potential for wind energy development in the region, providing scientific and data foundations for planning and design of regional wind exploitation and generation projects.
