Effect of Insulation Defects on Electric and Temperature Fields in 110 kV Cables
Cables are an important kind of equipment in power system.Defects encountered by cable insulation layer will directly affect stable operation of cables. This paper establishes a multi-physics field simulation model for 110 kV cables and analyzes the effects of different types and locations of defects on temperature and electric fields of cable insulation. The results show that, compared to air gap defects, moisture in the insulation has a greater effect on temperature and e-lectric fields inside the 110 kV cable, and the impacts of defects closes to conductor side are greater than those locate dis-tantly.
