Study on Viscosity Properties of High Performance Epoxy Resin Insulators
As an important index of technological performance of epoxy resins, viscosity (dynamic viscosity)has close re-lationship with resin's surface tension, fluidity, and impregnation with additive reinforcing materials, and it has been re-garded as one of the most important parameters in manufacture. Thus, analyzing how viscosities of basic compositions for epoxy insulators vary with temperature can be instructive in choosing proper parameters during manufacture process. In this work, viscosity properties of several compositions for insulators were measured by using rotational viscometer and fit-ted with Arrhenius equation and improved equation proposed by Licht W et al with wide application in other fields. Results testified these two equations and showed that viscosities decreased exponentially as the temperature rose;by comparison, it has been found that the improved Licht W equation can more precisely describe and predict the temperature-dependent variations of epoxy resin materials' viscosities.
