Optimal Configuration of DVRs Considering the Economy for Voltage Sag Mitigation in Distribution Networks
This paper addresses the effectiveness and economy issues of voltage sag mitigation in distribution networks by proposing an economically optimized configuration method for dynamic voltage restorers(DVRs).Initially,to accurately calculate total investment of DVR configuration scheme, the method analyzes the investment costs corresponding to differ-ent DVR capacities.Additionally, based on the voltage sag area of vulnerability and the interruption probability of sensitive equipment,an economic loss assessment of sensitive loads is conducted, and the total cost of voltage sag-induced economic loss is calculated according to the system's active power loss.Ultimately,an optimization model encompassing three ele-ments-investment cost of DVR device, economic loss of sensitive loads during voltage sag,and system's active power loss-is constructed to determine optimal capacity and connection location of the DVR.The configuration method proposed in this paper is found by a case simulative verification on IEEE 33-node standard test system to effectively save total econom-ic cost of voltage sag mitigation in distribution networks compared to the conventional compensation method of locally con-necting the DVR,ensuring reliability of distribution network operation while improving economic benefits.
