SOC Balancing Strategy Based on Non-ordered MMC-BESS
In order to reduce the switching frequency of insulated-gate bipolar transistor(IGBT)in modular multilevel en-ergy storage system under the conventional sequential-based charge state balance strategy and reduce the excessive de-pendence of the system on chip resources in signal modulation,a non-sequential-based SOC balancing strategy is proposed. The basic idea of the strategy is to classify the sub-modules according to SOC value, and exert different controls on differ-ent classes. This reduces the switching frequency of IGBT.The experimental system model of incorporating MMC-BESS into 10 kV power grid was established on MATLAB/Simulink platform for verification, which proves that compared with the traditional SOC equalization strategy, the proposed strategy effectively reduced the IGBT ground switching frequency.
