A Method for Replacing Non-load-bearing Clamps with Maintained Power Load
After long time operation of overhead power lines, the non-load-bearing clamps connecting the tension-resistant wires on various towers often experience the possibility of bolt loosening or burning due to overcurrent, heat generation,or wind-induced vibrations. Therefore, regular maintenance is required. This paper proposes a method for replacing non-load-bearing clamps with maintained power load which can be a better alternative to the methods of existing single insula-ting drainage line or the series connection of single-phase arc extinguishing switches and insulating drainage lines. It not only avoids power outage maintenance leading to customer losses but also enhances on-site operational efficiency and re-duces on-site safety risks. The implementation process and applicative advantages of this method are emphasized.
