Area Difference Method-based Single-phase Faulty Line Determination in Small Resistance Grounding Distribution Network Systems
A line determination method based on zero sequence current area difference method was proposed to address the frequent occurrence of single-phase faults affecting safe and stable operation in small resistance grounding distribution net-work systems.First by analyzing the fault characteristics of zero sequence current,it was found that the directions of change of zero sequence current on faulty and non-faulty lines were opposite.Second an area difference method enabling one-on-one comparison between two lines was constructed based on the aforementioned characteristic, and the faulty line determining matrix was obtained through normalization processing. Finally a simulative test on a 10 kV low resistance grounding distribution network system built by MATLAB/Simulink verified the satisfactory effectiveness in determining faulty line and a certain tolerance to transition resistance with respect to the proposed method.
