Optimal Type Selection of Tower Foundation for 750 kV Transmission Lines in Desert Areas
This paper analyzes appropriate foundation type suitable for transmission lines in desert areas according to the complexity of desert geological conditions and the stress characteristics of 750 kV transmission line foundation.By using foundation calculation methods of uplift resistance and overturning stability,it proposes the recommended values of uplift critical depth and uplift angle.Furthermore,it performs a technical and economic comparison among main foundation types with respect to application in aeolian sandy land.The paper can provide useful information for determining the opti-mal foundation scheme of 750 kV transmission lines in desert area.
