Influence of 750 kV Arrester Grading Rings on DC Leakage Current in Converter Station Filter Area
A measurement of leakage current under 0.75U1mA on the upper section of the 750 kV zinc oxide arresters in the filter area of an actual converter station was carried out under a power outage condition, and the grading rings of the ar-resters were not allowed to be removed. This led to grading ring-induced large spatial discrete current affecting the meas-urement result. In view of this, the method of eliminating the influence of grading ring by using shielding covers was pro-posed and adopted, and several common factors affecting leakage current measurement of arresters were summarized.
