Measures to Prevent Local Control Cabinets from Condensation in Outdoor Substations
With respect to outdoor substations,especially those in coastal or mountain areas,glass observation windows,inner walls,and top plates of control cabinets highly prone to condensation when encountering high relative humidity in summer or dramatic day-night temperature difference in winter.The serious condensation may lead to drops of water dripping onto surface of secondary components and terminals,which can cause corrosion of components or short circuit between terminals of out-tripping relays,and further,undesired trips of circuit breakers and power failure accidents.This paper reports endeavors in survey and handling of existing cases,and puts forward some countermeasures for the prevention of condensation.
