Analysis on Shortcomings of Hydrogen Leakage Monitoring of Stator Coils in Nuclear Power Plants and Countermeasures
This paper conducts an in-depth analysis on the problem of high hydrogen content in gas phase of the stator cooling water tank of an actual nuclear plant, and finds that hydrogen permeation is unavoidable.By combining industry regulations and the characteristics of stator cooling water system,it is concluded that the monitoring of hydrogen leakage in stator cooling water system should be treated differently between oxygen-enriched (open)systems and oxygen-depleted (sealed)systems.During practical operation of the oxygen-depleted system,it has been found that the gas phase of stator water tanks of many nuclear power plants has a common problem of poor sealing, which leads to the shortcomings of the existing hydrogen leakage monitoring of stator coil.To this end,a real-time analysis device for monitoring hydrogen leak-age of stator coils is developed. This device is capable of not only calculating the current hydrogen leakage in real time through exhaust flow and hydrogen content, but also performing dynamic calibration according to stator cooling water tanks with different sealing levels. It can effectively solve the aforementioned problem, and has certain popularizing signifi-cance.
