This paper first clarifies the conventional methods of generating assembly details using EDA software in PLM. Then aiming at addressing the defects of those methods such as low efficiency and manual operation intensiveness,an au-tomatic method is proposed.It enables automated generation of assembly details in the PLM system while minimizes inter-ference to operator habits,which improves the work efficiency and the correctness of assembly details.
