This paper focuses on a case of test fault of a converter transformer.It determines the location of the internal discharge fault as the laminated wood stud of the valve 3.2 by the mean of multi-test internal inspection and examination.Based on test phenomena,inspection results,and material analysis of the stud,it is confirmed that internal foreign mat-ters are the root cause of the test fault.
