Case Analysis of Cracking Cause for Outer Casing Elbows of Nuclear Plant Hydrogen Supply Double Wall Pipes
During the power operation of a nuclear plant,several leakages occurred in the outer casing elbow area of the double wall pipe of the hydrogen supply system.In order to find out the reason,macro and microstructure analysis,com-position analysis,hardness test,and other methods were used to perform failure analysis on the cracked elbow.The results showed that stress corrosion cracking occurred in stainless steel elbows.Rectification measures have been proposed,and the leakage problem of outer casing elbow for double wall pipe of hydrogen supply system during power operation has been effectively addressed.This case analysis provides useful information for other units to solve similar problems.
