Medium-voltage DC Power Supply System for Electrified Railways
The medium-voltage direct current traction power supply system can effectively solve the power quality and neutral section existing in the current electrified railways,and is of great significance for promoting the development of high-speed and heavy-duty railways.Compared with the conventional AC traction power supply system,the medium volt-age DC traction power supply system can more easily and efficiently integrate renewable generations,improve the utiliza-tion of regenerative braking energy,and improve the connectivity of rail transit.In this paper,the status quo of electrified railways is first clarified.Then the topology,control strategy and voltage level of the medium voltage DC traction power supply system,the cross-sectional area of overhead lines and the spacing of substations are analyzed and summarized.Fi-nally the future development of medium voltage DC traction power supply system is discussed from the perspectives of AC-to-DC transformation,energy management and system protection.
