Comparative Selection of Gypsum Dehydrator for Desulfurization Systems in Thermal Power Plants
The dehydrator is an important apparatus in the Fuel Gas Desulfurization(FGD)system of thermal power plants,which directly determines the quality of the desulfurization by-product-gypsum.This essay analyzes and compares the vacuum belt-type dehydrator and disc-type dehydrator in the limestone-gypsum wet desulfurization process.The vacu-um belt-type dehydrator technology is mature,with a simple structure,low initial investment,and high operating per-formance,but it has high consumption and operating costs.The disc-type dehydrator has a small footprint,low power consumption,and operating fees.Taking the selection of gypsum dehydrator for a desulfurization system of 2 × 1000 MW plant as an example,by comparing the initial investment,electricity consumption,water consumption,and maintenance costs of the equipment,the initial investment of the disc-type dehydrator is increased by about 3.45 million Yuan compared to the vacuum belt-type dehydrator,and the annual operation and maintenance costs are saved by about 782.9 thousand Yuan.
